It feels really beautiful to be here with you again.

After some time away, I’m returning with a new episode of the Finding Freedom podcast — not with anything new to add, but with a truth that has remained steady and unchanged throughout it all.

No matter what is appearing in life — challenge, uncertainty, joy, or apparent struggle — returning to presence has never failed me.

In this episode, I return to something simple, direct, and endlessly freeing: presence is always the answer. Not as a practice to perfect or a concept to grasp, but as what is already here — prior to reaction, prior to effort.

The conditioned mind often believes something must be done. A problem must be solved. A story must be fixed. Yet life continually reveals otherwise.

“Seek ye first the kingdom of God within, and all else will be added unto you.”

This is not an invitation to improve the personal self. It is a quiet pointing away from chasing outcomes and toward what is already whole. When attention rests in presence, what is needed unfolds naturally — without force, without strain.

This episode gently explores:

  • Why reacting from conditioning never brings lasting resolution

  • How presence dissolves problems rather than managing them

  • What it truly means to “seek first,” beyond spiritual language

  • Why nothing needs to be added for freedom to be known

This is not about becoming someone new.
It is about noticing what has never been absent.

If life feels heavy, confusing, or demanding right now, this episode offers a gentle invitation to pause — not to escape what is happening, but to meet it from the stillness that is already here.

Oil Portrait of Nisargadatta Maharaj

✨ NEW ART ALERT! ✨

 Introducing my latest oil painted portrait of Nisargadatta Maharaj, one of the greatest sages of India. This nighttime painting of the beloved enlightened sage embodies Maharaj’s fiery energy and the intensity of his demeanor, captured in vibrant colors and vivid brushstrokes.  
       

✨ Nisargadatta is one of my all time favorites, thus his appearance in my Spiritual Heroes series. His Advaita Vedanta pointings, are precise, no fluff – he doesn’t hold back – that’s what I love. Nonduality is known as the Direct Path for good reason; it’s for those not interested in waiting millions of lifetimes to wake up. For it is possible now and it is indeed our natural state! Nisargadatta has inspired countless seekers to an understanding of True Nature, the timelessness of Being, via Self Realization. This painting is a tribute to this beautifully simple, direct and sublime wisdom.

Oil Portrait of Ramana Maharshi

Please enjoy the third in my Spiritual Heroes portrait series: the beloved Ramana Maharshi. (11″ x 14 oil on panel)
Warning: I’m about to get real… Those who know me (behind the standard facade of personality, identity, history, name, appearances, bla bla bla) are aware I’ve been a mystic at heart from the very beginning. Born fascinated with the big questions in life, it occurred to me as a young child to inquire, “Who Am I?” The question came from the innate knowing there is no separate self, despite finely tuned adornments of personality/names/labels/identities/stories/conditioning. However, I was absolutely NOT prepared for what happened upon asking this powerful question of “Who Am I?”
“I” disappeared! Completely.
Along with the world!
The entire illusion of Maya dissolved instantly. Only that which is real remained. The formless. That which is never born, that which never dies.
There are no words to describe this pure causeless, timeless, spaceless, attribute-less infinity. Great volumes, texts, religions and philosphers all point to this ultimate truth which cannot be taught, cannot be learned, cannot be described… which, however, can be felt so clearly within Ramana Maharshi’s gaze. Empty of false self, yet so full… of the formless, the real, the changeless. Beyond all concepts beyond the world of relativity.
Therefore, I invite you to look into Ramana’s eyes to express what I would never ever be able in words.

Second (though by no means ranked) in my Spiritual Heroes series, Thich Nhat Hanh. Peace, compassion and love were the magic that flowed painting this beautiful hero of mine. He exudes effortless strength in his divine humility, perfect clarity of the deepest wisdom and the unconditional love of a realized master. He has had an incredible impact on my life for which I will be forever grateful.

Emptiness is not something to be afraid of, said Thich Nhat Hanh. The Heart Sutra teaches us that form may be empty of self but it’s full of everything else. Thich Nhat Hanh embodies that divine, inexpressible quality which is simultaneously nothing and everything… the beauty of pure, unconditional love.

Portrait of Jesus Christ

“Jesus Christ” 11″x14″ Oil on Panel 

Just in time for Easter, still drying on the easel, the latest oil painting from my series of Spiritual Heroes.


Painting Jesus was certainly daunting… I could only surrender completely, asking him to take over. This oil painting has an energy alluding to the two thousand years which have passed while honoring the humility, love and power of Spirit.


Painting portraits is the most beautiful, intimate process. Spending hours with each individual absolutely incredible which is why I’ve chosen to paint my spiritual heroes- for with whom better than they, to share heart and soul? Not to mention I’m now surrounded by the beautiful energy of (so far 3) of my spiritual heroes in my home every day! It’s an indescribable experience to bask in this energy.
